The Huron High School Counseling Department will be hosting a Financial Aid Night for college-bound students on Wednesday, October 17th at 5:00 P.M. A financial aid representative from University of Michigan-Ann Arbor will be presenting. Students and parents are welcome. Matthew Edwards Memorial Scholarship
The Matthew Edwards Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #123 is proud to offer a scholarship to students from downriver high schools. The scholarship is named in honor of Cpl. Matthew Edwards, a Taylor police officer who was killed in the line of duty July 23, 2010. Candidates must either attend a recognized Christian College or major in Criminal Justice. Ave Maria Foundation
The Ave Maria Scholarship is now open to Michigan residents who are first-time college freshmen with a GPA of 2.8 (unweighted) or above, or an SAT score of 1100 or above. Students must be accepted for admission at Ave Maria University for Fall 2018 and a practicing Catholic. Students must maintain a university GPA of at least 2.5 to keep the $3,500/semester scholarship. Complete the online application at www.avemaria/apply.

There's a new partnership between InstaEdu and Chegg dedicated to bringing free college counseling to first-generation college-bound students. All students who are registered on ImFirst.org,-non-profit Center for Student Opportunity's online community providing first-generation, low-income college students with inspiration, information and support on the path to and through college--are eligible to receive two free hours of on-demand college counseling on InstaEDU.
