The Huron High School Counseling Department will be hosting a Financial Aid Night for college-bound students on Wednesday, October 17th at 5:00 P.M. A financial aid representative from University of Michigan-Ann Arbor will be presenting. Students and parents are welcome. U of M Flint Direct Admit Program for Nursing
High School students interested in nursing who have a 3.4 GPA or better and a SAT 1160/ACT 24 are eligible for the U of M Flint Nursing direct admit program. Applicants who are selected will have a reserved spot in the BSN program once they have finished their Pre-Nursing prerequisite work. The Direct Admit Program provides guaranteed admission to this highly competitive program. Apply to U of M Flint as a Pre-Nursing major, submit your Nursing Direct Admission Application by applying at umflint.edu/nursing-direct and complete an interview and writing reflection. Students will be informed of their acceptance into the Direct Admit Program approximately three weeks after interviews.
Online GPA Calculator

InstaEDU and Chegg
There's a new partnership between InstaEdu and Chegg dedicated to bringing free college counseling to first-generation college-bound students. All students who are registered on ImFirst.org,--non-profit Center for Student Opportunity's online community providing first-generation, low-income college students with inspiration, information and support on the path to and through college--are eligible to receive two free hours of on-demand college counseling on InstaEDU.
If you are interested in applying for scholarships, go to http://www.schoolsoup.com/scholarship-directory. Scholarships are listed by a variety of categories including by major, college, state, race, athletics, activities, etc. The site has recently added a new feature that automatically sends a weekly email to a student when a new scholarship that closely aligns to the student profile has been added to the database.
